Following last years Shimano Deore XT M8000 groupset for mountain bikers, touring and trekking riders will soon have a new Shimano XT T8000 touring groupset based on the XT mountain bike groupset. The Shimano XT T8000 touring groupset features a 3 x 10 speed drive train, a new Hollowtech II triple crankset, Rapidfire Plus shifters and brake levers for flat bar bikes and utilises other components from the mountain bike groupset.

Staying with 10 speed ensures reliability and the convenience needed for bike touring and being able to easily interchange parts with existing 10 speed mountain bike groupsets including both Shimano and SRAM 10 speed cassettes. The new T8000 groupset will only be available for flat bar bikes, not drop bar.
