Solar powered bike lane in south korea

This video shot by a drone shows a 32km bike path covered by solar panels, in the middle of a busy freeway between Daejeon and Sejong in South Korea. The bike lane provides shelter from the rain and sun for cyclists and generates clean energy to be used in businesses or households in the area.

From the video it looks like the bike lane is accessed from ramps under the freeway that come up to the solar panel covered path, from there the bike lane is mostly covered by solar panels for the 32km bike ride. After watching the video we questioned how the fumes would be being situated between six busy lanes of freeway and the solar panels probably trapping some of the fumes. The other question would probably be how safe is the bike lane from motor vehicle accidents on the freeway, most crash barriers are designed to move with impact.
